Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheek estate.
Cheekwood exists to celebrate and preserve its landscape, buildings, and its art and botanical collections. Cheekwood values the preservation of
its landscape; serving as an educational resource and an exploration center for visitors interested in both art and nature; and in embracing
creativity and innovative thinking.
How You Can Help
The following activities are just some of the ways you can get involved at Cheekwood. Please let the
Volunteer Coordinator know which opportunities interest you.
Special Events: Be a part of making a Cheekwood special event fun and
fabulous! Events include the Season of Celebration, Spring Art Hop, Highballs & Hydrangeas, Scholastic Art Competition, and many
more!
Museum of Art Docent: Give interpretive and interactive tours through our
historic Museum of Art.
Garden Guide: Give interactive, prescheduled tours throughout our gorgeous
gardens.
Garden Volunteer: Help keep the gardens seasonally beautiful.
Art Activities Assistant: Support teachers and students as they have fun with
art.
Library: Assist with the organization and cataloging of the botanical library
collection.
Greeter: Welcome visitors as you answer questions, give directions, and inform
them of current events and exhibitions.
Booth Assistant/Community Outreach (Speaker's Bureau): Educate the community
about Cheekwood and help recruit new volunteers.
Sculpture Maintenance: Have a background in the arts? Ask about how you can
help keep outdoor sculpture beautiful.
Chihuly Host: Be a part of something truly amazing! As a part of the Cheekwood
50th Anniversary festivities of 2010, you can help inform visitors in the Gardens or in the Museum of Art.
